The Academic Study Abroad Program (ASAP) for Graduate Students - 3 Quarters at the University of California is a program designed to give students from around the world an opportunity to pursue their research and study in a different cultural context. With a span of three quarters, students will have enough time to immerse themselves in a new environment, to engage in groundbreaking research, and to take part in rigorous academic coursework. The program offers participating students the chance to regularly attend classes alongside University of California (UC) students, while enjoying the same academic privileges and responsibilities. Participants will enjoy full access to the UC libraries, computer services, and recreational facilities. With the support of the university faculty, students will have an opportunity to further delve into their fields of interest, cross-disciplinary boundaries, and bring fresh insights back to their home institutions. The program is competitive and requires that students be nominated by their home universities, meet the English language proficiency requirement, and have well-defined study and research objectives that are a match with UC’s offerings. The benefits of engaging in this program are manifold and equip students with international perspectives to enhance their professional and academic careers in an increasingly globalized world.
